Andy Stratton
Marine escort on The Solar Railway — survivor of Operation Oversight and witness to the hooded intruder.
Then straight to QuakeCon, bro!— Andy Stratton, last audio log (The Solar Railway)
Andy (Andrew) Stratton is a Marine on Mercury in 2141 — one of four escorts under Squad Leader Don Ivan Punchatz during Operation Oversight. After civilians are delivered, demonic forces hit the Solar Railway wagon; two of five marines survive — Andy and K. Lee-Creel.
Andy spots a hooded, monk-like intruder between Cargo Bays 7 and 8 — likely boarded during loading at Lu Hsun Gates. His Part II Praetor report describes red cloak, white mask, and blood pouring from sarcophagus-like containers in Propulsion Room 3. He abandons post to track the Sentinel priest, then maxes suit cooling to survive a Summoner assault — waking days later after the Slayer clears the train and docks at Thakur Cross Service Station. He leaves for Lazarus transport and, in 2145, Quakecon glory.

Operation Oversight Report: Part IIThe attacking creature is incredibly fast; hard to track its movement. It seems to be teleporting, but it'll be eliminated soon. I continue following the primary target: the hooded figure that must have boarded during the loading procedure at Lu Hsun. I summarise this just in case the mission fails: The target wears completely inappropriate clothing for the Mercury environment. It wears a red cloak with gold trim and white armour, and a white mask covers its face. It looks like some kind of monk. He moves like a shadow, cautious and unseen. I spotted him accidentally in Propulsion Room 3, where the sarcophagi are stored. He was muttering something around each sarcophagus in an unknown language. Since then, blood has been pouring out of all of them.
F* cking hell! If I ever survive this... (Audio log)Well, I guess that's it. Escorting these assh*les is fine, but this life-or-death sh* t is not for me for sure. I'm out of here! I hope we dock soon. Then straight to QuakeCon, bro! (Once I got out.) There I can show what I'm made of, but for real money. Anything is better than this disgusting, sh*thole. I'm not John McClane! He wouldn't enjoy this, and it ain't Christmas either! Just a sec. Time to send my official report, and I need to switch on my suit cooling. Whoever comes this way, I'm dead, teehee... It's done. So, the hooded f*cker couldn't have just vanished! There must be a secret door nearby. Or maybe on the other side... Holy sh* t, someone's coming! I'm dead, I'm dead... I am f* cking dead... Sh* t, it's freezing cold in here...
Background
In official Doom 3 continuity (2145), an IPN News Network report dated 11 November 2145 credits Stratton with the gold medal at the 149th Quakecon Games — 10 million credits after beating thousands of arena athletes.
The Mercury Rising marine is fan fiction built around that future fame — a nod to real-world figures, not an official Bethesda biography.

Trivia
- The name may reference Marty Stratton, Executive Producer on Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal.
- Or a nod to Andy Stanton (Kazahana), community mapper known for Classic Doom for Doom 3.
- His detailed hooded-figure report is rare human intel on a Sentinel priest — filtered later through VEGA-era systems in campaign lore.
