In the timeline of the Doom: Mercury Rising campaign (set in 2141, four years before Doom 3), Lee-Creel served on Mercury as part of the military detail for Operation Oversight Phase Two. He was responsible for escorting UAC personnel who were being transferred to Mars as part of a large-scale recruitment drive.
His personal PDA entries reveal his real name (that is, Kekoa) and also his deep dissatisfaction with his posting on Mercury, which he felt wasted his talents. His final message documents his plan to sabotage the transport to make his own unauthorized transfer to Mars, stating that he had managed to override the transport's automated rocket propulsion.
Sorry, Boss, but I'm f* cking done! (Excerpt)

"This is madness, Boss and not fair! ... I managed to override this crazy automation and shut down the rocket propulsion. F* ck this AI! Once we slow down, I’m getting off at Titian Terrace. I'm taking my chances on Mars, Boss!..."
Kekoa<nowiki/>'s fate and the outcome of his desperate escape attempt are fully revealed only by playing the complete Doom: Mercury Rising campaign, and are further detailed in the UAC Personnel page.
