Wojciech Axinte is a researcher, and the older brother of Cornelia Axinte. He calls her Nelli. The player finds his PDA on Adamante Limes, dropped after a gore pile on the wall touched him. The entry is an audio log, stamped 27/01/2049, local time at the site.

He was checking blood composition and did not see the tentacle. A touch was enough. It felt beautiful, warm, and soothing, and energy flooded in through his forearm. His heart raced and the hair stood up his back, a feeling he last had as a child under high-voltage lines in a storm. What he then describes is red and old: someone seated in a skull that is really a throne, a delegation talking, and a name he does not know, Novik. He asks if Nelli is among them, blames the AI for her, and says the machines should never have let her near the well. They lie, and they do not care.

The gore pulled him in and held him. He dropped the PDA, which is why the entry is spoken: he could not write while it was happening. People do not survive that. Weeks on the gore, and the person is possessed even if the mass lets go. It is still open whether the red throne was a vision, or whether he, or his soul, crossed into another place. The player later stands in the same scene without the gore's touch, so what he describes is not only something he invented.

Cornelia is dead. His log is the unofficial trace that an AI-run instrument let her into the lightning at the Argent well.

Trivia

• Nelli is his name for his sister, Cornelia.
• Novik is a name he does not know. In the later games it belongs to King Novik: the dead king of the Night Sentinels in Doom Eternal, and the living king the Slayer serves in Doom: The Dark Ages.
• The gore on the wall only had to touch him. The stun, the flood of energy, and the pull into the mass followed at once.
• People do not survive the grip. Weeks connected to the gore, and the person is possessed even if it lets go.
• The player meets the same scene without that touch.
