Shared Timeline
A fan attempt to put Doom 3, DOOM (2016), Eternal, and Dark Ages on one spine — with Mercury Rising as the 2141 prequel hinge.
Official DOOM releases do not ship one neat calendar that cleanly merges every game. Fans still try — because Hell, Mars, the Slayer, and the UAC keep rhyming across titles. The Fandom Shared timeline page is one such attempt: align Doom 3 dates with 2016 / Eternal / art-book lore into a single spine, even when the stories were not written as a single novel.
Mercury Rising uses that spine as a creative challenge. The campaign sits in 2141, before Doom 3 (2145) and DOOM (2016) (2149), and tries to weave parallel threads — Betruger and Hayden, multiple Mars footholds, Hell as gateway — without pretending the job is easy.

The fan campaign. A 33-map SnapMap prequel on Mercury (and beyond) before Doom 3 and DOOM (2016). Betruger, Hayden, VEGA, and Hell-as-gateway politics can still take unexpected turns.
Major beats condensed from Shared timeline on the Doom Fandom wiki (community compilation of game and Art of Doom dates). Fine-grained day logs (plasma-gun promo videos, etc.) are omitted on purpose. This is a fan orientation aid, not an official Bethesda chronology.
