Cartic Chauhan

Maintenance technician with the Indian pirate crew — meeting log on the Thakur Cross vending ban.

Rank: Maintenance Technician

Alignment: Friendly (pirate crew)

Fate: Dead

First appearance: Thakur Cross Service Station

I banned the vendings.— Cartic Chauhan, meeting log (Thakur Cross Service Station)

Cartic Chauhan is a minor character in the Doom: Mercury Rising campaign — a Maintenance Technician with the Indian pirate crew at Thakur Cross Service Station.

His PDA is a meeting log from after the EU workers left: seven cases of dizziness, blurred vision, and thirst; a station-wide vending ban; samples sent north. He rejects Padhy's intentional-poisoning theory while admitting the machines may be the source — water is Mercury's softest target, and the crew cannot afford proper suits. Giriprasad Dinakar's PDA later curses Chauhan's ban — a tech like him, not the pirate boss.

TITLE: CARTIC CHAUHAN · SUBTITLE: Odd symptoms after the EU workers left (meeting log) · HEADER: UAC PERSONNEL

  1. P1 · 127/130

Seven reported dizziness, blurred vision & constant thirst. I banned the vendings. We seized unopened drinks already dispensed.

  2. P2 · 124/130

I don't buy Padhy's deliberate poisoning theory, but infection may start at the vendings - we sampled stock & sent it north.

  3. P3 · 126/130

What argues for intent: the infection hits us at our softest spot. Like everyone else on Mercury, we're at the mercy of water.

  4. P4 · 121/130

If this is deliberate, it's a filthy move. The perps know we can't afford proper work suits - or keeping them maintained.

  5. P5 · 120/130

I'm trying to deal with local Russian Fed forces for funds or work suits. Fear theirs would be in worse shape than ours.

  6. P6 · 130/130

Few of us left, but service still needs eyes. One block holds only an eighth of a wagon - N14 too. Watch other modules' processes.

Cartic Chauhan is a minor character in the <u>Doom: Mercury Rising</u> campaign. He is a Maintenance Technician with an Indian pirate crew at <u>Thakur Cross Service Station</u>.

The player finds his PDA among the Thakur Cross records in <u>Mercury Rising - Part One</u>: a meeting log written after the EU workers left, recording odd symptoms among the remaining crew — dizziness, blurred vision, and constant thirst. Chauhan bans the station vending machines, seizes unopened stock, and forwards samples north. He doubts <u>Pabitra "Padhy" Surendran</u>s deliberate-poisoning theory, while noting that water is the softest target on Mercury and that the crew cannot afford proper work suits. <u>Giriprasad Dinakar</u> later blames Chauhan's vending ban for leaving him with nothing he can drink. The full log entry is provided below.
